The Flock Safety Overview for HOAs by Flock rep is here.
Flock Safety is a security technology company that provides license plate recognition (LPR) camera systems designed to help communities reduce crime. These solar-powered cameras capture vehicle license plates and other identifying features, allowing law enforcement and HOAs to track and investigate suspicious activity. Unlike traditional security cameras, Flock’s system focuses specifically on vehicle-related crime, which accounts for over 70% of property crime nationwide.
Flock report up to a 70% reduction in crime within the first year. In fact, law enforcement agencies using Flock data have increased solve rates for crimes involving vehicles by as much as 400%.
Beyond statistics, the presence of Flock cameras significantly improves residents’ sense of peace and security, knowing that their neighborhood is proactively protected and that suspicious vehicles can be flagged and investigated.
Cost Breakdown:
$2,500 per camera/year (includes hardware, software, support)
$650 one-time installation per camera
Given our HOA’s $400,000 annual budget, implementing Flock Safety is entirely feasible. A modest investment in a few cameras can have a major impact on crime reduction and resident peace of mind—making it a smart, community-focused security enhancement.
